Historical Timeline Of
The Quail Springs Church of Christ

Oklahoma City
1998 November

After 23 years as preaching minister for The Village and The Quail Springs Church of Christ, Ronnie White announced his resignation in November of 1998 and concluded his work with the church at the end of the year. He had accepted the position of pulpit minister at the Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland Texas.

This evaluation of Ronnie White's tenure was given by Mark Henderson in his doctoral thesis:
"When White arrived at the Village, the congregation stood firmly in the traditional mainstream of Churches of Christ. The Sunday worship followed a simple, traditional routine, and the congregation generally shared the sectarian point of view that only those in Churches of Christ were members of the Lord's true church. White's religious heritage was not in Churches of Christ and he brought a new perspective to the pulpit. From the beginning of his ministry, he preached grace and subtly advocated a more ecumenical understanding of the body of Christ." ... "During White's tenure, the congregation had changed locations and, in important ways, had changed its identity."
Henderson, Robert Mark, "Leadership and the life of God: distribution of ministerial gifts and leadership practices at the Quail Springs Church of Christ" (2004), thesis presented to ACU, pages 7-9.

Ronnie White was Senior Minister at Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland, Texas from 1999 to 2008 and he served as Associate Minister there in 2009 before retiring in 2010.
